I'd like to bear my testimony of blogging ...
Well, not exactly. I have had a bit of a love/hate relationship with this consuming pass time. I often think I waste too much time on the blogosphere that would be better spent in service to my family. But then there are elements of this community that are not only fun, but seem genuinely worth while. Today I found one such element through my bloggy bff Erin.
The site is called Diapers and Divinity and the author is Stephanie. She is starting up an on-line reading club. Each Sunday she'll assign a talk from the latest LDS General Conference. Those participating will read and hopefully get a dialogue going in the comment section of the weekly post. Her personal goal with this is to base her scripture study for the week on that particular talk. She's starting with Elder Holland's fabulous talk on the atonement.
I am so excited for this. Every season my goal is to re-read all of the conference talks before the next session. I have done it a few times, but I often don't quite get there. This will be a great way to pace myself with a more directed plan. If you're interested, link over to Stephanie's site for a better description of her club.
Yeah, blogging!

What a great idea! It sounds like a worthwhile endeavor to be spending our precious blogging time on. I know I could certainly use something like that. Thanks for reporting on her on-line book club.
This sounds great! I was thinking that I really needed to do more reading of the nature, and this is the perfect kick-in-the-rear to do it! Thanks for sharing, and I will check out the link!
:~D
Great club to be part of. I'll have to check it out.
That sounds awesome! Going to check it.
Wow, that is cool!
Yeah, blogging! My husband asked me a couple of days ago, "Do you only blog for the social aspect of it?" I said, "No." And then I told him about this GCBC. He decided that blogging is a great thing, if only because of this!
What a wonderful idea! Elder Holland's talk was my very favorite. I didn't cry until after he ended his talk, but then I just couldn't stop. My family kept looking at me like, "Are you going to be able to pull yourself together?"
That is such a great idea, I may not make it every week, but each week I do is one week I am better for it, right? Maybe I'll 'see' you over there!
I think I'll look that one up. It is a great idea for getting through the conference talks!
Sounds like a wonderful idea! I loved Elder Holland's talk! I cried through it because his heart spoke to mine truly and deeply. I quoted from his talk in my recent blog post. I hope you had a great Easter!
Stephanie is an awesome blogger--she has a great writing style and is very insightful. I am looking forward to this.
that's a great idea! i agree with the above comment that no talk has touched me as much lately as Elder Hollands. loved it.
